Picked up my shaved 1G intake manifold among other things today... Parts are mocked up, not actually mounted. Gloss black looks sexy! Powdercoated by Primo Performance!

I'll toss the timing belt on tonight, and probably the trans/etc on Sat.

Cleaned the motor up, installed more parts onto it, and pushed the VR-4 back into the garage where she belongs! She's safe from the snow now! Soon! Motor will go in!

A big thanks to Cooney (he's on here too! Summit white VR-4) and my friend Ethan!

Update! Yay!

Picked up the HX40 (freshly rebuilt and balanced), and tossed it on along with the O2 housing etc. I need bolts for the exh manifold to head, and I need to figure out my drain line/feed setup. Probably 1 week or so until it goes in.

Steven,

You have read the big thread on Tuners about the drain for these right? You need a big oil drain or you will blow the seals and trash the turbo. If you know what I am talking about, then I guess that's what you are figuring out. If you don't, Pm me and I'll get you some info so we make sure you make the return line big enough.

Paul

Edit: Looks like Geoff beat me to it ... That should help!

Swapped the trans and such today... Almost ready for the big swap. Oil pan has to get welded. To everyone who asked, the Holset will be fed by a -4A with a FP red restrictor. Drainage will be done by -19 AN stock Holset line by welded nipple to my oil pan. Sold my Magnecores for some Taylor wires instead, 10MM.

Here she is boys... Almost ready...

Quoting Chim55117:
Paul, thanks for the kind words.

It is an Air Oil Seperator (AOS) designed by GrimmSpeed in Minnesota, US. It creates a closed system where by the oil/air/is constantly recirculated, and waste vapor is dumped back into the engine. Eliminates the need for a catch can. GrimmSpeed has it for Subaru's, but I managed to snag one of the only two prototypes in existence for 4G63.

Nevermind. Disregard my above post. It just took me a while to find this in the thread because i couldn't find it by searching for "cap".

Dang, that's pretty black - I'm sure it will look pretty good but might be hard to photograph 'just right' /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sitting outside the shop as room clears up. Piping, wiring, and hookup until it's ready. Goal is to be done and ready for the May 12th local dyno day here.
