Paul, thanks for the kind words.

It is an Air Oil Seperator (AOS) designed by GrimmSpeed in Minnesota, US. It creates a closed system where by the oil/air/is constantly recirculated, and waste vapor is dumped back into the engine. Eliminates the need for a catch can. GrimmSpeed has it for Subaru's, but I managed to snag one of the only two prototypes in existence for 4G63.

Yeah me too. Maybe if you travel light you can bring me a valve cover like yours. I got the replacement VR4 back a few days ago. Looks great on the outside but damn is it ropey under the hood. We might need to have an engine bay cleaning day /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rofl.gif

Yeah unfortunately the one we are sitting on got rear ended so the replacement is grey. Need to put some pictures up. Nice photo that though. That was a good day! Reminds me I need to get that sun visor on the new car.

I am thinking of an HX35 or 40, but I may go with an SC turbo of some sort.

Ever thought about the HE351VE?
There's one for sale here with low miles, I bet I could grab it for $100 and would ship it to you at cost.

Wait... Your daily VR-4 got rear ended so they gave you another VR-4? Send me that JDM hood from the crashed one, Paul!

No, I bought the replacement myself. It will be some time before I get any sort of settlement out of the taxi driver. And that car had no JDM vents sorry, but the new one does /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif

Decided on an HX40 with a BEP housing, and already put a partial down payment down with a local board member. Thanks for the offer though!

And yet, it might be headed to your place anyway...

Paul just picked it up.

2/12/11's progress...

Started the day by pushing the VR-4 into the garage, taking the bumper/a few pieces off, then the intercooler. Removed the AC, and started moving wires over. Next steps? Respraying parts of the engine bay, then relooming and tucking wires.

Motor and VR-4 next to each other! Oh boy!

Dirtier than it looks, all wiring moved off the body, some just laying on the left side. Time to degrease, and respray/reloom!

Spent the afternoon with a bucket of water, Dawn, and several Scothbrite pads. Degreased it all. Hit the subframes with Rustoleum hammered paint. Sanded down the rust, primered, and resprayed the bad areas with fresh KG paint.

Looking good! Picking up my HX40 next week.

More to come.
