I creep once in awhile. Finally got 1649 aka "BearCat" back on the road over the July 4th weekend. It was a 10 year rebuild due to family, baby, house reno, work, etc. I'll post the rebuild in a thread.

I finally was able to get back into the site in early '23. Guess I'm an OG now, since I've been a member since '05. I come back once in awhile and peek to see if my old car 50/2000 pops up or, is even still on the road. I sold her 7 years ago.
Hey Johnnyracer, iv been on here for quiet some time but didn’t have an account I followed number 50 for awhile I have it an it’s still alive and well on the road.

Galant VR-4, 702 of 2000 is: somewhat, daily driven. It would have broken out of the 12.5 index class at the 2024 DSM shootout, if the cam angle sensor had not come loose. Best time was 12.58. Thanks go to Curt Stuart, my transmission builder, for that awesome time. My reaction time sucked. And thanks to Chris Mauter for all the build advice and tuning the ECM Link v3 for me. Needless to say, it is no longer stock. The active suspension was deleted and 5 lug swapped before I acquired the shell in San Francisco. AWS was removed to allow for installation of 4 bolt rear axles. EVO 8 front brakes and master cylinder replaced the stock ABS. BC coilovers. Stock block and crank.

Well, well, well, I'm very glad to see #50 is still on the road and looking good. I have to say I still regret selling her.
I’m very, glad as well it has sort of a story to it to be honest. So I, bought it back in 2020 Valentine’s Day I had it delivered in a snow storm. it was on a scrap guys trailer headed to scrap! which I believe Cameron had sold the car to him anyway he let it sit he was gonna scrap it I said I’m a mitsu guy I can’t let it happen how much so I ended up getting it delivered an the car was rough shape lots of things were missing interior wise radiator I have pics of everything so anyway I traded my buddy in Bristol for his 1g gsx shell an he ended up re doing half the galant to make it road worthy again an fixing some of the rust well he ended up doing some work for me so I ended up giving him one of my other cars as payment an bought #50 back so it’s got quiet a story I saved it from its death it was honestly sad the shape I got it in but sh*t happens so what ever I guess but I have photos an I plan to keep the car so if you would like to see any update photos feel free to message me I have plenty of photos of it of all the work an everything I’m in my early 30s an never thought I would get a chance to own one of these so I’m enjoying it.

She’s not gonna live forever but I am not gonna take credit for my friends work but he did a great job it was on it’s death bed I’m sad because I would like to keep it forever but I know it won’t make it with how much rust Iv been watching for a shell I originally checked for rockers but of course they don’t make them anymore haven’t for awhile the worst is the rad support but other than that he did all new brake lines brakes deleted rear steering he put alot of time an effort into keeping it alive like I said I can not take credit I am 31 years old an I never dreamed I’d get to ever drive one of these cars I have several colts including a 89 mirage gt an a 89 colt gt im considered a younger dsmer but i grew up with these cars an i try to save them all or the ones that I can espically in my area most stuff is passed around. So it’s, mostly junk.
