the slow build of my vr4

still no luck with borrowing rims.

i believe the 8g galant knuckles have a different lower balljoint and something else,threw mine in the trash bin long ago.
had my rear shock bushings changed a while ago at the shop.
need to get my front arms fixed up and painted.
its been raining so no real progress.

finally got around to doing something on the car.
got a head liner locally.lucky me!
just needs to be detailed

got my jdm engine harness ready to be cleaned up

also found a nice looking used footpack and cross bars from piaa/terzo

and finally found rims that dont stick out a lot from the body,but eats up the 3000gt/gto brakes.
not the prettiest out there but works fine and is oem/enkei.

im guessing 215/45 17s will do just fine.
planning on painting them white but not too sure yet.they kinda remind me of the ralliart dymags

btw,anyone know if 315/1000 or 315 of 2000 is still around?

got a new sunroof i may sell or take parts from

got to clean up and install my engine harness
installed new ceiling from my roofcut
installed my old tires on to the gto rims.225/45 seems good



got seat covers for the temporary seats.sold the evo 4 reacaros as they didnt look right on a black car


and finally a sunglass holder.(was told it was from a jdm lancer)no mods,straight bolt on.
wwont fit oakleys or rudy.strictly for driving or reading glasses.

hi cheekychimp,i got that console used i think last year.there are a few of us who have that here.
prices vary from 30usd to upwards of 200usd.brandnew here was 400usd.
atleast one pc pops up every year.
this one was the 30usd,the one in the blue amg was 200usd.
mine is not vr4 specific.had to cut the sides a little to fit the prop tunnel.
the other one i have fits perfectly on the blue amg even without the supplied bracket.
its made of fiberglass with plastic felt trimmed lid,was told it was outsourced by mitsu a while back.
i remember 1st seeing this in one of misterfixits catalogs.
btw if you or rich want a rhd burger tray i left it with my friend in makati.

im always on the lookout for rare parts,either for keeps,for sale or for trade.
i even find some non galant(mostly honda) rare stuff by accident.
currently looking for a vr4 specific trunk tray and foglamp deletes.

just realized,my car is a product of almost the whole galant community.
ive installed parts from new zealand,usa,japan,phil,and canada.
engine and ecu is still dsm though.

finally got it on all 4s

got the proper bearings for the 3000gt spindles and got it on.now rolling on 3000gt/gto front and rear brakes+spindle and arms+oem jdm rims!
and its raining again.

also got my engine and tranny already.next up will be the long engine build.

some progress.

block is at the machine shop.having it checked and what not.
pissed of at the neighbor,got cement droppings on my new paint and sunroof glass.
neighbor will pay for the expenses,will bring it back to the paint shop maybe next week.


they also got cement on the gti but i agreed to let them buff it off.it will be off to the paint shop tom so i can have the lower portion painted.
was thinking two tone black and gray

and finally the blue amg thought it woold be cool to let the crank pulley go loose this morning.will tackle this tom also since ive been feeling sick
the past week.

yup,thats cement(there were a few rocks and nails too).they have to repair it since it part of the contract we signed.
we sold that lot to them last year.our covered garage on the other side of the house can only hold 1 car and the mini cooper is there.

the guy they brought along finished the gti yesterday.



and now everythings delayed,still sick.
neighbor is still haggling with my friend on the price for repairing paint on the vr4.

hoping to feel a little better tom.

no real progress on the vr4 as work is taking its toll on me.
blue amg managed to bend 4 exhaust valves so its at the shop.
black gti is doing great as a daily.
mini is giving me a hard time with its a/c.
ralliart themed fridge door anyone?
(by the way thats not me)

oh and i killed a gti today

will be doing inventory/cleaning and organizing in the next few days as my storage units are flodded with parts and i need a lot of new crates.

Im impressed with the work you get done on your vr4 with the all that rain the PI gets all the time, in one pic I think the place is flooded, damn its been years since I was back in the PI but my Big Bro always goes back home for the last 5 years now, serenading a chica there hehe!

maybe when I go homeI could come by and visit, I miss the PI so much its been 12 years since the last time I was there, if you need anything for your vr4 here in the states I could be of some assistant since my bro and folks always goes back and forth seasonally in fact my folks are returning in march

i think it is,not sure what dupont calls this kind of black.
previous vr4 was black too and so is the gti.
if i had it my way even the other amg and the mini would be black.
