Yeah I bought Chris Ginev's motor from his car. And I'm about to get a Shep stage 3. The current motor is slowly dying, I'll run it till as long as I can though.

What are your new goals for the car?

How does a 295hp car murder a ross/pauter setup. Those rods are indestructible (guy on years back hydrolocked one, shredded the piston, rod still measured out fine)...

You are throwing money at a car instead of making what you have work first. It's a bad approach and you end up burning cash and being disappointed. Just my opinion.

^^^ this man speaks truth.

How bad is the compression, if that's the issue? I've seen people make 500hp on cars with 135psi across... Sure it's way shittier than if the motor was still solid, but this is not the only problem.

One problem is:

Tuner's Dyno: 400+
Every other dyno: < 300

#1 biggest problem I can see right now is the tuner.

#2 biggest problem is parts being chosen because bling/rare, not because complimentary and work well together.

That's how part-outs happen.

Mike's been making it rain on his VR4 with shiny bolt-ons and random parts since 2011. Y'all wasting keystrokes here...

Too bad for Mike it only rains bling, and not horsepower.

Well, I'd say 424awhp @ 22psi on pump is a respectable number. Certainly not tapping out the potential of the setup, but decent power, especially at such a low boost level. It would seem the legitimacy of those numbers are now in question, though.

Mike's biggest problem is his reliance on others. When most of your build is done by someone else, there's always the potential for a lot to be left up to chance. When you understand the processes and machanics behind the modifications, it's a lot easier to make choices that make sense. I'm not saying Mike doesn't know anything, just that there's a knowledge gap left when you aren't the one turning the wrenches on your sh*t.

Who Mike listens to and trusts to build with his interests in mind is his business. In the end, he's the one who is going to suffer any negative repercussions. I think there's 40+ pages here of pretty sound advice, so it's up to him whether or not he takes any of what we say into consideration. It's a historical fact Mike will do what he wants, regardless of how many people say I told you so.
