So sexy!!! (I'm talking about the fobs Steve)

I can't wait to get mine. The "replicas" look pretty damn good to me.

It also appears that the VR is a different font compared to the one that Curt posted.

Overall however they look fantastic!

Looks good!

I am a little surprised by the subtle differences. I'd have thought the easiest way to make the replica would be with some kind of imaging system converted into a CAD file... or something like that. The fact that the font is slightly off suggests that the replica was designed by hand using pre-existing fonts which were chosen to "best match" the original. I guess they know their business but that just seems like the hard way to me.

This is a good time to take a look at the spreadsheet and make sure there are no discrepancies! Please take a look! I'm waiting to hear from them so I can place the final order.

There is an easy way to tell the original from the replica. The original has a crappy bent piece of metal excuse for a clip that holds the badge to the main ring. Looks like the replica has a proper ring so it won't fall off like the original. Almost lost my original a few times because of it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Looks like the main difference between them as far as appearance goes is the old one has been beating around in a pocket full of change for 18 years and the Replicas are off the shelf new. Let's revisit this thread in 15 years and put an old and new side by side and see what we got. Of course that means someone needs to take an original beat up fob and keep it in 18 year old beat up pristine condition until that time comes so probably not gonna happen.

When I get the new fob.... Whats the point to carry the old fob around? Maybe we will see... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
