As you may remember I spent a lot of time playing with different orientations of the PWR barrel to eliminate air pockets. Even with the barbs pointed sideways you it's impossible to fully prime the core. It wasn't till I turned it so that the barbs point nearly straight up that I was able to get it to operate at full capacity. Get a pair of molded 90* heater hose pieces (or some other, more expensive but prettier fittings) so that you can fit it under the hood with the barbs pointed as straight up as possible.

I'll try and get an updated shot of the engine bay today for you guys.

It's still in the works.
My plan is the replace the cooler with another type. The pwr is good, but I've been offered something that is meant to be better.

Cost wise, I can't honestly say due to the constant change of plans and parts. Parts get purchased then sold, purchased then sold etc.

But the good thing was that it was done by cash so I dont have any debt owing on the thing.

As for the 90 degree fittings, I will do something like that soon, I may even do a reservoir or something like that in the future. The intake temps are very consistant though. Once the dry ice and ice goes in, I'm hoping to make alot more power.

Looking good Baz.

I'm happy to see you haven't given up mate! There's so many awesome little parts on that car that make it what it is.

That's pretty respectable power too! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Top-Notch!

Must be cool to be neighbors with Japan. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Here are some engine bay pictures:

Exhaust Modification (to suit the moroso sump, the previous exhaust had more room to play with due to the smaller sump.... keep that in mind for you guys planning to go moroso)

Rear boot firewall (to try and keep the fuel smells out of the cabin...)

New manifold ready to go on some time in the future thanks to Jesse @ Revolution Motorsport.

I finally also managed to run in the motor and made a about 330kw's at all four wheels which works out to be 450hp's on a very conservative dyno.. This was on low boost (23psi, wastegate spring pressure) and also with pump fuel. We didn't put much timing into the map either as it was the original run in tune map. We'll get a full tune out of it soon using some dry ice & ice water. Hopefully we will be able to hit the 350kw mark with pump fuel (475hp).

I'll then take it out and give it a few runs, then change the inlet manifold, throttle body and intercooler. Also see what we can do on C16.

I will have some video's of it on the dyno shortly.
Thanks for looking guys.

Thanks for the kind comments too.

Looks pretty sweet. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nice sheet metal behind the rear seat. Will that work as a firewall? I need to do something like that since not only is my battery in the trunk, but so is my methanol cell and pump. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/uhh.gif

I used sheet alloy, so it will prevent smoke / fumes I guess to some extent, long enough to get the fire extinguisher to it. The sheet has been rivitted and poly glued onto the frame. Rally guys overe here do it for the same reasons (smell, fire and also helps keep the chassis rigid to some extent). I sure does keep the noise and smell out that is for sure!

Did you reattach the seatback? Not that I ever have passengers in the back of 1051, but I'd like to retain the seat.

I've always liked your PWR liquid to air setup. Isn't that the heat exchanger in the front? How do you like it and how does it work?

GVR-4, yes it is the heat exchanger for the pwr barrel cooler.
The cooler works well, it keeps temps very stable, no spikes or dips so its very good for tuning.

Also the reduction in piping really helps the turbo spool up nice and early.

^I'm telling you ever since I went to a car with a liquid IC, I dont know about going back. Its consistent and my piping is like 2 ft long.
