It was a 7-bolt motor, but it's actually a 2.0l (16v SOHC)version of the 7G Galant motor. AFAIK it is a one year engine with a head similar to the 7G. It also has the taller deck height from the bottom of the engine block as compared to a 4g63 in the GVR4. The mounting of this engine was still found on the engine block as opposed to the transmission bellhousing.

Most often those spoilers are found on GS, GS-x GSR & VR-4.
