Removing old tint is a pain. My tint guy does it with a heat gun and alot of patience. If you pull the film off without heat or chemicals, it will leave the adhesive, which will be an absolute bear to get off. If you heat it, and slowly pull it off, you can often get the film and the adhesive (or most of it) off all together.
