I went over the pricing of the metal and the time to make one. Shipping cost and hardware(nuts and bolts). I came up with $295.00 shipped. I can build two of them with the metal I have left over.

I was saying that it looks better now that it is black, opposed to bare metal

They would hit the gas tank the other way. Maybe with some shorter bolts it might work. I might look for some black bolts later.

Move the talk over here. I will be making a front skid plate. Looking for some feed back.

Ok guys. Question about the front skid plate. Would you want it with open wholes to access the oil filter and drain plug?

Quoting citymunky:
I will say with open holes for access. One of the only things I hated about the G35 was you have to drop the OEM undertray to change the oil.
If it's not to hard for you you can add access door like this:

Won't be able to do the access door. Was just going to make a whole. Where you can access the filter and whole to drain the oil.

Something like this.

It's going to be hard to come up with a front undertray for our cars that will work for everybody, IMO. Wastegate dumps, downpipe size, oil filter location, intercoolers hanging down and their bracketry, etc. all need to be taken into consideration. Not to mention how low everything sits under there already, an undertray will be pretty close to the ground if trying to clear a 3" downpipe or something similar.

I've sat under my car and looked at it wondering if one could be built. It's doable, but looks like a pain in the ass due to the reasons I mentioned.

Yea it might not work for everyone true. I have a 3inch downpipe. So it will clear that. I will make it work with the stock everything else. You can modify as needed from there.
