Can someone tell me what year coolant temp sensor this is?

[edit - oh, you were looking to see what year it goes to...don't know, but it looks just like the 92]
Looks like the one that goes one top of the housing, since the one that goes on the bottom has one terminal at a 90 deg...however, want to say there is a connector that looks just like that in the radiator (bottom), but could be mistaken.

It came out of the top of the thermostat. My question is what year is it from to order a new one??? The 90-94 is different, the one I bought is from a 2g because the prongs look the same, but the plug is different.

Here's some pics of the setup itself..

According to Rock Auto (the one for galant, which looks just like the pic you posted; you need to get one from a 1G or 89-93 galant, as 2g has diff p/n):
that one on the right of your pic (with the longer probe) does not look right, as you are probably aware now.

When I went to order the one for a 1g the prongs were different. One prong was up and down, the other was left and right.
This is for my galant, Dsm motor was swapped in.

You sure it was the correct sensor you went to order? Reason being is a 1G should be same as Galant and your housing looks just like mine, so should be the same (that old sensor you posted is identical). Where are you ordering this from? If a local chain, bring your piece with you, as those guys aren't the brightest stars in the sky and especially on older cars.
Remember the BOTTOM sensor has the two terminals that are in different orientations, as you described, so it's possible you have that sensor and not the one on the top. One is for the A/C, iirc, fwiw...BUT, also that one (bottom) has the terminals exposed and no shroud around them...look at the pic I posted for what I'm talking about.

Well which one is the "coolant temp sensor" that tells the ECU how much fuel ect depending on the temp?

Ok so the top sensor is a fan relay? Bottom one is the coolant temp sensor
My fans come on just fine so ill assume even though that top sensor looks best to sh*t my fans still work.

Well replacing the sensor didn't fix my idle problem. But hey it's one more new part!

Off topic, but what sort of intercooler setup are you running? That looks like a DSM turbo outlet.

Also, here is why replacing that sensor did not help with your problem...
It's for the A/C.

I thought the vertical switch in the top of the thermostat housing water neck was just a switch to turn on the AC pusher fan when coolant temps get REALLY hot, like around 233F or so. If you turn on the AC, that fan comes on, but if you're coolant starts to overheat, even with the AC off, that switch will turn on that fan as a last resort to cool things down.

No, the vertical sensor ( #3 in pic ) controls the AC compressor clutch, disengages/cuts off the compressor if the coolant temp is too high.
The horizontal sensor facing the firewall, #4 in pic, is the secondary/AC fan sensor.
