504/2000 Restoration project and 2 other VR4. Why do I love these cars!!

The undercoating turned out nice. I'm jealous of all your nice new OEM parts /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Did you order your tie rod boots from Mitsubishi or come with the rebuilt rack? I picked mine yo from rock auto and they don't fit over the inner part of the rack.

You have to get the Moog boots (or bellows) that are MADE IN JAPAN. I bought the Beck/Arnley's and they were made in taiwan and couldn't get them on. So I ordered the Moog's and the one made in Taiwan was the SAME EXACT boot as the Beck/Arnley. They use plastic zip ties too. The Japan made Moog has metal straps and a different material.

The build looks awesome so far!! Where are you getting all of your OEM parts? Just from the dealer? I figured some of the parts would be discontinued. I bought a bunch of OEM stuff from my local dealer, but they were mostly nuts and bolts, which I'm sure are used on more than one car for a lot of them.

The shop where I had the rack rebuild at supplied those. I just supplied him with the inner and outer tie rod ends.

I am getting from a local dealer near me. I have a friend that works there so the discount is good. Alot of them are discontinued. Nuts and bolts are good as they fit different models.

Bolts showed up today. So I will be putting everything back together now.

Did some more sanding and painting today. Also cleaning up the block. Snapped a few pics before I left.

Don't know how I missed this build until now. You are utterly amazing in your restoration, sir. Giving Wop a run for his money on the cleanliness.

Awesome job! I look forward to meeting you and seeing your G-ride when its finished. I'm only an hour south so I'm sure we'll meet at the track or gathering.

Sounds great about meeting up. I believe there a few other vr4 in the Orlando area. Maybe we can do a meet or something.

Small update:

Finished painting the hubs and block. Also ordered new front bearings and seal, because one of the bearings doesn't spin as free as the other.

I would like to also thank my brother for all his help. Wouldn't have been able to do this with out him. His project car is next /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Here's some updates from today.

Installed the new transmisson mount (What a pain in the A--). I guess the last owner had some transmisson work done. Because one of the bolts on the transmision was stipped. The impact almost didn't get it out. So had to retap the thread. Also got the new oil pan in and installed that.

Out with the old.

We are taking a break from working on the car today. Thought I would update the thread while I cool down. I think I lost 10lbs today. So hot in Florida.

Bumber and fenders back on. Installed the front suspension and brakes.

Front is all back together. Just a couple little things to do. Then I can install the wheels and drop it down.
