I would have to agree with Craig camping at the track was pretty damn fun. waking up to cars rolling in cant get much better then that. they have showers and everything as well so you can do that or if you are bring and girl im sure that would sway there opinion.

you might not see all of the drunk fests at the hotels.

I think I'm getting old. Last year I just wanted to get some rest and couldn't because of all the drunk sh*t going on outside the hotel. I was camping right behind the econolodge. After working through the night to get the car together and up there I was beat. Of course I forgot my pillow, my blanket and my sleeping bag. Somehow got a hole in my airbed and managed to not get much sleep anyway. I spent the next day after the Auto-x helping my buddy trying to get his car fixed for dsm eliminator qualifying. Finally got it done in time for the last qualifying session after he broke a rear axle in a 2G.

Just giving this a once over and looking through here to see what you guys are talking about. Talked with Mike(gsx tc) the other day so I figured I'd come see what he was mentioning. I live in Ohio roughly 45 minutes from the track so I'll definitely be making it out there, add me to the list fellas.

The first time I went to the shootout I stayed in a hotel but camping out sounds awesome. Can somebody tell me more about the camping situation? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Camping is free at the track as long as you have a weekend pass. People post up on the grassy infield sections through out the sidelines. You can have small contained fires, listen to music, etc. There are showers available as well

I normally would be for this, but there's something about being able to crash in a comfy ass bed with air conditioning after a day in the Ohio August heat that beats out camping every time /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rofl.gif
