what is this blue an fitting?

Is this a restrictor or a filter? Its -4 size.

I have an old school 60-1 turbo, non BB. If this is a filter of some sort I want to replace it.

Thanks

I think it's neither, just looks like a male AN adapter to connect the two female ends together. The hoses are two different sizes and each probably weren't long enough so they used that adapter to connect the two.

just like this one is

Could just be an adapter that was used because they didn't have a long enough line. If you take it off and it has a noticeably smaller through-hole, then its a restrictor.

It's not a restrictor as those are inserted into the fittings and inline an filters are just small canisters. I would agree with the above statement that it's a union fitting because the lines were just goo short.

Brother you need to look at the inside if its large all the way through its a union but if its smaller its a restricter. I had one like that from my aircraft days I used on mine and when I pulled it off the shelf the hole was .015. I think I drilled it to .065 but it could be a restrictor. If it says aeroquip on it check. If its an earl's its probably just car stuff.

From what I have read on here and other dsm sites, yes.

I will check it today but I think these guys are correct in that it just connects the two lines. Which is strange because I'm sure there are companies out there that make long enough lines. Or not like I couldn't make a new one without the connector.

You know what is nice though that I just thought of and why I will keep it there. The head is aluminum, correct? Well, I'd much rather remove this piece time and time again when swapping turbos, doing work etc than have to remove the banjo bolt from the head time and time again. This way it eliminates any potential cross thread and stripping of that hole on the head.
