I used a tray I built at work and mounted it on the front subframe against the firewall. Even more out of the way. and FWIW, you can buy Glass MAT small batteries at Advance Auto now. 12v, good cold crank amps, and about 15 pounds.

cool, I made my own nonblingtastic tray for my galant for free /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

it was my first time using a MIG welder, so it ain't pretty, but it works.

I bought a Kinetik HC800 Power Cell on ebay for 120... but they can be had for much less /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My SLA battery is laying down in the stock location, with the air intake on top of it. All more or less in the stock locations /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

The Non-spillable Glass MAT batteries are great for throwing anywhere and zip tying down. From Advance, they are pretty cheap as well. I think I paid 70 bucks for mine and unlike the large motorcycle batteries, they come charged.

I'm considering doing this. I have a gvr4zum battery tray but I'm debating on that, the trunk or what you said. Probably one of the latter two, because the gvr4zum tray (while a very nice, quality piece) is a lot of weight right over the wheels.

JMF made me this nice little billet one that holds a Odyssey PC680 battery and still fits a 4" intake

Just throwing another option in there /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Ryan does great work, he developed this tray for 582/2000

it is now going in my GGSX. I would definitely recommend his products/services, his website is HERE (http://thompsonracingfabrication.com/index.php).
