Does anybody know if the evo 9 MR turbo will fit on our cars? and is there any fabricating involved in installing it? if so how much of an upgrade is it? the turbo code is TDO5HR G. part number 49378-01580. please and thanks

Use the search button, there are a couple of threads on it. That turbo is a twin scroll so it will not work with our cars without a lot of fab work. Plus our engine sits the opposite way.

That turbo will take a lot of fabrication to do you any good. It would require a custom manifold and I'm not even sure it would fit right.

The big thing is that its a mirror image of the 'normal' turbo. Because the engine sits the other way in an evo and the turbo is in front of the engine, the turbo spins the opposite way from what we have. This means that if you were to put the evo 9 turbo on your galant, the exhaust housing would curl out towards the radiator instead of in towards the engine. This would probably make things very difficult to package.

On top that, the turbo is a twin scroll, meaning you'll need a divided manifold with the 1 and 4 runners paired and the 2 and 3 runners paired.

Basically its too much fabrication for a sane person to undertake, especially when there are much better options available.

You might look into using an evo X turbo because, from what I understand, they are normal flow but still divided.
