Transfer Case Recall Kit

I searched "Transfer Case + Recall" and got pages of everything but. I looked in CAPS but it doesn't show the kit. I posted in the For Sale section, WTB and got no responses. I looked in the Part Numbers section, but it isn't listed, so does anyone remember the part number for the recall kit, as I guess I am going to have to buy a new yoke to use for my fixture to remove the nut on the main shaft of the transfer case.

Do you just need the seal? I think I've got an extra Scott. Otherwise call JNZ and they'll get you what you need.

AFAIK the recall "kit" was just the driveshaft yolk. When the recall came out we either did nothing if it was dry, replaced the yolk if it was leaking, or replaced the whole t-case if it was run so low that it was noisy. If it wasn't making any noise you need the yolk, input seal, and output seal. If you can't find the PN for the recall yolk then I can dig through my shed for the papers but if you call JNZ I'm sure Josh will know exactly what you need.

Thanks guys! I just need the yoke. I need the yoke to put in a vise to hold the main shaft to remove the nut. I want to rebuild the transfer case and I need to remove the nut, so I can change the bearings. There is no way to hold the shaft. I thought if I had the yoke in a vise, I could keep it from turning. I have already ordered all of the bearings and seals from JNZ

FWIW: When I rebuilt my driveshaft, the "transfer case recall kit" was much cheaper than buying the actual parts I needed for the rebuild. So when I finished I had some extra seals, but I think I tossed out the 2 extra yoke thingys I had leftover. Have fun with the next project Scott /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yea, those "2 extra yoke thingys" are what I needed! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif No problem, I bought the kit and I will use the new yoke and beat the crap out of it in the vise and then I will have it for future rebuilds. The other stuff in the kit I don't need, because I have already rebuilt the driveshaft, so those parts will be extras.

Eh, sorry Scott. I held onto them for a few months, dropped one on my foot one night, and then pitched them in a fit of anger. But the yoke part is all I had left. The "+" looking things went into the driveshaft rebuild. Good luck with it.

I take it the wife isn't tired of finding car parts in the freezer yet...

I hide them in bags of ice cubes in the back of the freezer. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif It is the toaster oven she got upset about. She won't use it any more, so it is permanently in the garage now, so I won that small battle. I am hoping with the yoke, I can hold the shaft well enough to get the nut off without stripping the splines off the shaft. After I get it off, I have no idea what is next as far as disassembly. It is all housed in the intermediate housing and I can't see anything. But hopefully, I will be able to get that all apart and then I can start the toaster oven/freezer process and get it all back together.
