If I recall the clutch master cylinder is the same, but the clutch slave is different. The galant spec is a little bigger bore for easier clutch release. All data lists the part#s as: GVR4 MD718638 DSM MD733623

Should be the other way around. The slaves would be the same since the trannies are the same. But due to the different pedal assembly and location, the master is different.

with the same size bore on the clutch master, and a bigger bore on the slave cylinder the clutch would be easier to release, but you would end up with a little less travel, unless the pedal assembly makes up for that.

Looking at the parts I have, they are all interchangable. I thought there might be a difference because of the different pedal assembly. But, other than some minor bore size differences, both AWD dsm and GVR4 slave/masters interchange.

Master cylinders are indeed interchangeable. done it, both are 5/8 bore and identical bolt pattern.

i went with the 94 gsx slave cylinder with the 3/4 bore vs our 13/16 bore. for adjustment reasons.

The GVR4 clutch master cylinder is ALMOST the same, the DSM version has a taller fluid reservior but other than that they are interchangeable. So you can buy the DSM one if it's cheaper, and then just swap the plastic fluid reservoir over and you're good to go.

Side-note: Never buy non-oem clutch master or slave cylinders, they f'n suck.

mine are both from Autozone, and I have no problems with adjustments or leaking.

Me neither. My slave lasted almost 3 years and when it started to leak, A-zone replaced it AND refunded part of the original cost because they have become cheaper since them. Master is now 3.5 years old and still going strong.

3 years of service on a 3X Clutchnet PP is not to bad if you ask me.

Hey, far be it from me to dispute the experiences of three or four people! When it comes to shifting and timing it's all OEM for me YMMV, but in my experience I've gone through two f'd up autozone MC's before I just bought an OEM and solved the mystery.
