The time has finially come when the engine is ready for a rebuild. It was leaking and spraying oil all over the engine bay, turbo is completly blown (Stupid knockoff EVO 3 16G)which was new when i bought the car 2 years ago and not even a year later it was junk /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif I was planning on building a engine, but since i couldnt afford to right now i purchased a longblock of Nate Crisman as a starting point.
Stock Engine w/ 86k
Balance shafts removed
ARP head studs
Mitsubishi MLS headgasket
I started ripping her apart this weekend and got some of the engine bay cleaned up. Here are some pics of the progress so far.
Here is the new engine that i got from Nate which just needs come good cleaning

The Old Setup, which was lets just say messy

Nice work!! Keep the pictures coming. You have that intake mani so blinging it looks like glass.

BTW where did you get the ex. mani done? Im thinking about an external wastegate.

looks awesome man. i am interested in the valve cover tapped with the SS lines. i know it goes to the catch can but what made you decide to tap it like that? any advantages of it?

no real reason, i sent it out to jnz to have powerdercoated and i told josh to welded 10an fittings on it for a catch can and thats how he did it. I would probably do it alittle different next time so it doesnt sit up so high, but i still have a good 1 1/2-2" hood clearance

well i planned on taking it out for its first ride today after putting the new lower radiator hose and of course its still leaking. so my freshly powdercoated water pipe must be leaking at the joint from the main pipe to small pipe for the heater hoses and what not. so i just had my spare one off the old motor cleaned up and the stock turbo coolant lines welded shut and the feed pipe for the heater hoses redone so its definatly not gonna leak in the future. leak tested it and its good to go on. so hopefully i can get the old pipe off without to much trouble and the new one installed tonight after work
