I am trying to replace the driver side half shaft with out any luck. Are there any tricks to separate the half shaft from the intermediate shaft? Any help is much appreciated!

You're trying to separate the inner and outer shafts?

I like to hold it vertically by the inner shaft, letting the hub end hang down near the ground over some sort of padding (wadded up blanket or some foam rubber). Hit the back of the cup with a dead blow at a downward angle, turning the axle a bit each time. Eventually it will come loose and fall down onto the padded surface below – watch your knees, shins, and toes!

Dan has good advice there, but if you do this right over your foot, it makes it guaranteed to come apart. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif

Thanks Dan, that worked. I was trying to get it apart with the intermediate shaft still bolted in the car to no avail.
