Well after driving to school on Rt. 21 and the car basically crapping itself, I am up for another rebuild. Looks like the turbo seals and possibly piston rings are fried. Also the car is basically pissing oil but the coolant is good so the head looks like it is okay. Not exactly sure what happened but this will give me a chance to port the OFH, reinstall the A/C system, re-route and mount some of the intercooler piping and intercooler and sort out some other electrical gremlins.

I will be adding pictures of my progress and would love some helpful pointers, tips or criticism.

Here is how she looks as of now /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I managed to remove the follow parts before having to go do some school work:
- Strut bar
- 2G MAF and intake
- Spearco intercooler and all intercooler piping
- Synapse BOV

Is this type of BOV suppose to spin freely? I sent an email to synapse and they never got back to me. My HKS BOV never spun this freely.

I basically stopped when I noticed how badly the support bar behind the bumper was rusted. I am going to pull that off and replace it soon /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Like I can rotate the bov on the pipe to whatever direction I want

Already sourced out a guy in LI with a bottom end I can toss in. Ill rebuild the other engines on my other time.

Gives me time to send out my V2.5 DSMLink to get upgraded to V3 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Oh ok. there are two set screws on the bottom of the BOV. have you tried tighten them down? that should solve the issue.

Ah, I knew thats what they might be for. I will take a look when I get home today.

I think I am going to order all new gaskets completely all around and replace them all.

I had an HKS with a c clip and that thing would swivel if I wanted it to but didn't leak.

Well I managed to basically just get to the ECU and pull the V2.5 ECMLink chip inside. Will be sending it out tomorrow to get upgraded to V3.

Got home too late to really do anything. Tomorrow, I will have much more time to get things done /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just a picture of the chip /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well after lifting out the engine, I was in for a surprise. The engine looks like it tossed a rod! Bored a nice hole into the block and blew out the piston into pieces. Looks like it bent 2 exhaust valves and 2 intake vales in the process.

Already called up a friend and he has a spare block and head that both have been rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago. Block has 2G pistons and 1G rods and I will be dropping in 3G lifters and 272 Webb camshafts into the head /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Also started working on all the surface rust I see in the back-end of the car. The rear bumper support looks okay except for a small area in the corner. Already have black rustoleum and 3M rubberized coating ready to spray on.

Also ordered the DSMLink V3, MSD IAT sensor and possibly a full gasket set and a 1990 OFH. I haven't full decided yet about the last two things.

I will get some more pictures of the damage to the piston or whats left of it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rofl.gif
