Question on stock intake filter replacement

So I need to get a new air filter, and went to rockauto and confused. There are 6 different types listed. I was thinking of getting the FRAM one, part number PRA6362. Here is the pic:

But our filters are more oval shaped like this other part listed:

Anyone know if the picture for FRAM is just generic? Or will this one not work?

Thanks for the quick replies. Not to be stubborn, but how would a circular filter fit on the stock intake when it's shaped like an oval? Will the rubber base seal correctly (so that only air enters through the filter)?

Mine is fine. It's not the air can that is oval, it's the MAS. I think what the other filters are trying to accomplish is trying to eliminate as much space as possible between the MAS and the edge of the inside of the filter. If you think about it, the oval filters would be worse. With those, there is no actual seal around the air can. With a circular filter, that rubber ring around the bottom fits between the "lid" of the can and the part that the MAS is attached to, therefore creating a better seal.

Edit: It actually looks like the second filter does have a circular rubber part there to seal it. The only part that's really oval is where it fits over the MAS.

Edit #2: A stock MAS is actual square, but everything else I said is correct.

the top one is also slightly oval shaped as well. and it does have a foam strip around the base that seals to the canister, but I recommend just goin with a K&N. life time warranty and proven performance

Ah, good to know. Ok, thanks for the confirmation. Will order one up then.

whats the price on the fram?
the K&N is normally more expensive but if you are replacing it anyway the difference in price shouldnt be too bad.
plus they can be cleaned so no need to ever buy a new one

Good point, I just assumed the K&N would be really expensive. This FRAM one is $11. How much is the K&N one?

Also on an off topic, I noticed that with (I assume) the K&N filter people drop in, they remove the metal shroud around the filter. Does this help with performance or do you end up sucking it a lot hotter air? Wondering if the increase in air intake (although hot) is better than less, but cooler, from the outside of engine bay (through that tiny little tube...)

You will suck in very hot air if you hack the air can. Better off leaving it on, or relocate the filter to the battery location with an upgraded MAF.
