Logging WB with stock ECU...

Not to be rude, but it was made in 91. To my understanding the stock ecu is capable of very little (open loop under wot? is that true? heard it somewhere.) If you are willing to have your ecu socketed and install a chip on it, then I believe it is possible. (anyone?) However as these setups cost hundreds of dollars I would not call it "stock".

As long as your car doesn't have California emissions, the EGRT input is unused, and can be used to log a wideband.
For those of you with California emissions: you will have to install a 1K resistor in R129 of the ECU, disconnect the EGRT probe wiring from the ECU, and connect the wideband wire instead.

I logged my NGK WB with MMCD using the method Jeff describes in my old GVR4.

Jeff,
I don't believe my car is a CA car. How is A/F ratio displayed on the logger? As a voltage output or is the A/F ratio displayed just like it is on my WB?

Exciting! I have a wideband, and would love to log it! When I said it was made in 91 I was saying that computers and ecus in that time period were very primitive. Clearly not as primitive as I thought!

One problem that some/all 1991 GVR-4's are going to have is that the wire to the EGRT pin of the ECU is non-existant. My 1992 had the wire and pin, even though it was Federal, but my 1991 did not. You will need to salvage an ECU pin connector and stub of a wire to add wideband logging.

The things you forget after years of working on and owning these cars. I had to do that to 1051 to be able to log my wideband. I think I got the extra pin out of a harness that Jon Barnes had laying around. Seems like forever ago.
