Hi guys,

What is the torque spec for an L19 ARP headstud? 12mm (6bolt)

I've been told 115 ft lbs with arp lube from ARP themselves...
Does this sound right?

Standards are 80 ft lbs..

Any help appreciated

Brian,

How were you informed to go to 100 ft lbs?
I'm thinking that maybe ARP themselves gave me the wrong info.
It feels as if the L19 stud is stretching at 115 ft lbs...

Thanks

Found some details on google:

Seems to be come conflict...

80 - 100 ft lbs seems to be the range..
I wonder why ARP told me 115 with moly lube for the L19's with a 12mm stud (6bolt)

Hopefully I can reduce the torque to 100 ft lbs without stuffing up the engine (currently being bored and honed.....)

I was told by someone at arp to torque them the same as the standard arps.

As for stretching its not the stud. I am willing to bet that your pulling the threads out of the arp nut. The studs are not going to stretch at 115ft/lbs. The nuts are made from the same stuff as the standard arp studs.

Whats the go with ARP giving us the wrong info??

The reason I didn't take the website info into consideration is because they only stated that L19's came in rod bolts only..

So a set of normal ARP head stud nuts will be the same as the L19 headstud nuts?
