Forward faceing oil filter houseing question

When you install a 1990 forward facing oil filter housing do you also eliminate the coolant lines going to the housing that are on the car stock?

i just plugged mine incase i wanna go back to the water cooled housings. With the FF filter housing on my car, i have to get the one engine brace off to get the oil filter off
