DS axle question

My driver side axle is bad and want to replace it. Can I just pry between the axle cup and intermediate shaft to get it off or would it be easier to just take the intermediate shaft off also? I'm sure this dead horse has been beaten. I searched but some time the wording throws me (edit: I'm retarded) so I figured I'd ask again. TIA!

if u just unbolt it from the back of the block and pull the end out of the hub, u should be able to pull it right now.
