COP+AEM without Wastespark

I am in the process of switching to COP setup and already using AEM EMS.
just wondering is it possible to control the coils individually with aem and quit using them in wastespark mode?

Has anybody done so before on our cars?
thanks in advance..

The coil usually used in our COP application is a dumb coil requiring an external igniter to trigger. As such, you will still have to use the factory igniter hand in hand with the COP. Factory igniter is a waste spark design.

You can probably run a sequential ignition by running an aftermarket igniter setup for it or even running one of the smart coil out there like the LS1 coils and then having AEM trigger for individual coil from coil 1 thru coil 4 but why? What sort of improvement are you looking to get?

thank for your reply,
I am looking for two kind of improvement, first to give my coils more time for recharge and to reduce my combustion chamber temperature..

Can't we use 2 igniter with these "dumb" coils to do the job?

Ive tried with two mitsu ignitors and it ran hot.Ive run LS1 coils before.they have built ignitors so wiring is less confusing.power, signal, chassis ground and ecu ground.LS1 coils will simplify running sequential ignition.
