Center console option

So ever since I got the first vr4, I noticed how, to me anyways, the lid was too low to be confortable. And the lack of 'usable' cupholders kinda sucked. Then I found this:

Has any tried to see if the console lid would fit ours with little or no mod? It would raise the height to that I would like and getting a bunch of real cupholders to boot.

Most likely you need to mod it. Last time i was in a diamante, the center console are longer than ours.

Not the whole console. Just the lid.

In this picture, it looks identical as far as the hinge and catch.

im not sure if it does, but it makes me want to go junkyard hunting to see if i can make it work, because your right... i really dislike the lack of cupholding the car actually does..
