car smoking

So the car is smoking worst at idle. It's not bad when im driving what could that be?

Yes you can drive it like that, but you will be burning oil. I drove my 2g elcipse like that everyday for 2 years until i sold it. Jut check your oil everyone and awhile.

Well that involves taking the head off, while off a good cleaning should be done, all the insides inspect and set it aside; while the head is off now is a good time to take it and do a valve cleaning or a 3,5 angle valve job. Order nice (to your budget) 1mm exhaust and intake valves or depending on your setup you could go with those cool beehive springs and fancy retainers, bronze valve guides and new end caps if your old ones can't be used again set it up torque to spec) and that sir is how ya do it in a nutshell-ish

Whoa, time out. You do not need to take the head off to do valve seals. Even if it was more than valve seals I suspect this fella has a long way to go before he needs any of that other jazz.

How experienced are you with working on cars? I would not recommend that a newbie do this.

 

Well i have buil a few hondas. My knowledg of these cars are lacking and for that matter havent realy messed with internal stuff. I am gong to scool for auto tec so i will learn.

As for the smoke, I'd say valve seals, or turbo, but I sure wouldn't be tearing my head apart if you wrench like you spell. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif If it were me, I'd take advantage of the tech school and it's instructor.

Well the car only smokes when its warmed up and its blue. It,s great whn i needed the clutch done i just said I had a project and the guys farther along in school did it for free. Also mayb a dumb question but is there a program i can get to help edit my post. I,m trying but realy lack in that. I will have pictures up soon when i bring the car home tommorow. It has a few more probs like broken studs and stuff, But westarted that at school so were gonna do it for a class demo, This school is awsome. One more question 4ws is leaking bad. I have read the threads about deleting it. When i got it on the lift its leaking in the back and front now. in the front its comming from the high pressure hoses to where it comes down to like a hard tube that directs it to the rear. Where should i plug the lines at? Rear is also the high pressure lines.

I would tell you to search, but it's pretty difficult. Try putting a + in front of key words. As much as you and the space button hate each other, you'll probably really hate the search function.
