Yeah, I gotta say, it is a good look on a black VR-4, but it daytime visibility concerns me. I don't want to get rear-ended. We're probably alright with the wing LED. I was thinking too that maybe some higher output two-way LEDs would help things. Maybe something retrofitted from the LED units that trucks tend to have nowdays.

do the reverse lights as well, looks much better.

higher wattage bulbs, or brighter led's or something would be a good idea.

^LED. Higher wattage can make more heat and melt the inside of the taillight housing. Ask me how I know.

I've done this before on the old camaro. I'd seen the most common way to do it was mix black paint with clear coat and spray it on little by little until you think its dark enough. My problem with that was I didn't have a proper facility or tools to do it right. Instead, I went to a hobby shop and picked up a can of spray tint. I seem to remember that it was fairly expensive... Anyways, I took off the taillight and sprayed the inside. It turned out pretty good and there wasn't any issue with being too dark because the tint was quite transparent. Also, it was only the amber turn signals, so not an issue with brake lights.

This stuff works great

Completely blacked out tails is a bit too much..but would look nice for the visual aspect.

I suggested like what the previous poster suggested is get some transparent smoke vinyl rather than the "niteshade" stuff. You can peel off the vinyl anytime if need to.

I blacked out the amber turn and backup section of my 91 tails and kept the red up top. Gave the car a "cleaner" look IMO.
