Does anyone know if the 3gtvr4 front capliers will clear the 17x7 rotor sub zeros?

it all depends on the offset of the wheel.... you need to run a +38 or lower offset.... if your 5 lug your best bet is to get evo oem wheels or get spacers

I found some cheapo rims good tires I was looking into getting also. The rim is 17x7 with a +40 offset and I was wondering the same thing.

None of those wheels are going to clear the calipers. I ran 18x7.5+42 & still had to run spacer to clear the calipers. Spoke design will aid in the clearance but the only way to find out is to try it.

I really hope the SSR Competitions I have will clear. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/uhh.gif They're 17x7.5, but I'm not sure about the offset. As soon as I get the car back from the paint shop, I'll be mocking up the calipers to check them out.

What size spacers did you need for the Rota 17x8 wheels?

What's the offset? Though I couldn't tell you the exact size spacer, you stand a better chance of clearing these calipers with 16x8+35 or 17x8+35. Keep in mind that not all wheels are designed the same & the size & shape of the spokes will play a big part. I tried 5Zigen FNOR's 17x8+35 years ago & I still needed to run a small spacer.

I was talking about your rims, in your ad it says you have Rota's. I understand how important wheel offset's and wheel spokes play when wanting to install Big Brake

Man, looking at that pic is making me re-consider selling the brakes! I might look into the brackets and spacers......

I wouldn't, but base out of what Garfield said, you are at least going to need 15mm spacers. (guessing what he means by small spacer to be 5mm or less).

Garfield,
How big was the spacer you used? If I do need to buy a set of new wheels, the FN01R-C's were more than likely what I was going to go with. I already have a set of EVO 8 Enkeis, but was wanting something a bit "nicer" to use for normal driving duties. It's really hard to find a decent looking set of rims in 17x8, even with the 5 lug swap.

If I recall correctly, I bought the wheels test fitted it & it didn't clear. I was upset & returned them because based on the specs they should have cleared but they didn't. I would guess a 10mm spacer should work.

Lots of info in this thread
