I haven't been on the forum in years.
Crazy how life and time goes by.
Over the years I have given the VR4 a few attempts to get back and going. In 2022 was the last time and it was running pretty well, actually. Even got a few pulls on video, my kids helped me post on instagram.
I have a last ditch effort to revive it. I need to swap the oil pump (no balance shafts so a bit easier) do to a stripped oil pump nut that finally backed off into the timing cover and allowed the pulley to wobble and start shredding the timing belt. Luckily the shredded belt bound up at idle with clutch in in traffic and I was able to coast to a stop in a parking lot. About 1/4" belt remaining and no jumped teeth. Have everything needed but I need a good lower timing cover. Will search the for sale/wanted section.
It's either swap and get back running again, or part everything out and sell the shell, which I have been unwilling to do for 20 years.
Anyone close that would want to hang out for a day of tinkering and talking cars?
(Yes, I'm old now. Bought my GVR4 in my 20's and now coming up on 51. Its a long time to have a car mostly in storage)
