I probably will be sometime over the winter. If you have access to even the simplest of machine tools you should be able to know some out with little effort.

-use materials that are good in tension and compression.
-use solid mounts to a min of 3 locations. (triangulate not rectangulate)
-try to make attachments at nodes is a big plus.
-try to use existing (stiff) members to direct the forces into.

Have fun! Can be a good job for someone to get their feet wet with design and manufacturing.

Cheers, Erik.

Remember to use both right and left hand threads for the bars. That way you can move them while installed in the car.

I'm contemplating this, but it's hard to justify when used bars are available for ~$30. I'd lean towards buying one and modifying it to triangulate like the above poster suggested.

If you are going to be racing the car, be sure that the class you want to be in allows triangulation to the firewall. IIRC that bar might bump you up into too high of a class in SCCA...not sure, but just check with the rulebook if its a concern for you.

Is that round bar or pipe? Oh and if that is for a specific application why not hard mount it and not use the movable joint to attach the bar to the mounting plate?

Its pipe. Its not hardmounted cuz it wasnt only made for my car. The guy made 5 sets for me that I used to sell. for some cars the bar would touch the TB so it needs to be bendt a little more. with movable joints you have the option to slightly modify the strut bar to make it fit right. sure hard mount might be better but believe me, these bars are pretty tough, the guy who made these builds drift and rally cars.
