How bad is the brake problem in these cars
should i be worried, has it made anybody get into a accident.

removing the computer disables the abs correct?

Correct.
It will also kill the ABS light on the dash and make that go bye bye. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
As stated in the link above (w/pics):
Pull 60A fuse for system
Unplug three connectors for ABS motor
Unplug/remove sensors under console by parking brake, and the one in the trunk.
Unplug/remove computer in trunk by antenna motor.
Pretty much all there is to it to make sure it's all disabled. That's how I'm rolling (until I get around to installing my non ABS hard lines and prop valve).
