2G MAF

i have a 91 Galant VR4 i wanted to do the 2G MAF. does it matter what car its out of or do you want it out of a specific model. eclipse, can it be from a SOHC galant or eclipse?

These also come in the 94-98 galants, some early 90's diamantes and the convertible 2g dsm's with the sohc 4g64.

It will have 609 on it. That's the one you want. It's in your best interest to get a virgin with all the honeycombs.

A 2g maf with evo 560cc injectors is one of the best budget mods i can think of. It's nearly 100 bucks all said and done. My car ran night and day better after swapping out the 20 year old 450s and stock sensor. It's a direct install aside of the plug and they cancel each other out nearly perfectly so no tuning required. I remember losing some timing with a safc while keeping the stock maf. Not the case with a 2g maf in. After installing i got timing back and the safc was pretty much 0'd out. It always made me wonder if a evo 399 maf and ~900cc injectors on a safc was like ~720s on a 1g maf. Like maybe upping the maf is the ultimate trick for the safc to run way larger injectors.

 

I found a 2G MAF out of a 96 Galant S SOHC. has the 609 on it. it is infact the same part on alot of the galant series as well as the eclipse, 300gt ETC. so if you looking for one they can be some what easy to find at a junk yard. i got mine at the Pick and Pull. for 44 dollars with the Plug and extra intake tube. if you use the Evo 560 injectors. the tuning will take care of itself? do you take the honeycomb out of the MAS of the 2G when putting it on a 1G or should you leave it in. i know they reccomend taking out the honeycomb on a 1G if you want to improve the original.
