Im getting some ssr wheels that are 15x7 what are gonna be the best tires for street and some occasional autox would 225/50/15 be too wide for 7" rims should I go 205/50/15 instead? would the smaller 205/50 affect acceleration in a good way, more low end grunt.
oppinions please.

Why would you want small wheels? Rough roads? Winter driving? I wouldn't run 205's if you plan to do any kind of auto x unless if you had slicks.
My street tires are 235/45/17 and auto x/road race are 245/50/17's

I had some on another car I used for track days and daily driving. I've never used other street legal race tires but I had no issues against other cars that were equipped with slicks.

The sizes you suggest make for a pretty tall tire. I run 235/40 on 1051 and 245/40 on 503. I only run the wider ones on 503 because they're the old tires that used to be on 1051. But they're a lot taller than stock already. I bet the 45 aspect ratio looks huge in that width of tire.

ya wop I was thinking that too, right now I have 205/40/17's which are really small,
Im going to 15's to save weight and I cant decide between the 225/50/15 and 205/55/15.
I just dont know if the 225 would be to wide for a 7 inch wide rim and cause it to handle worse, or if the 55's would be to much sidewall and affect handling.

I went with the 205/55/15's
the tire shop put a 225/50 on one and it was huge.
the tires are falken ze502

dude thats tons of sidewall causing tire roll and you dont want to run 225s on 7in wide wheels thats gonna cause tire roll pushing would be inevetable......stick with the 205s or just buy a set of tracklights or a good cheap 17 lightweight wheel and go 235/40/17 although the 15s would improve accel quite a bit which might not be a bad thing for autox or scc racing
