I recently purchased a 92 vr4 from an older gentleman who had mild mods. Clipped 16g front mount bigger injectors/fuel pump ( currently unknown but he said slightly bigger than stock), using an apexi safc and upgraded clutch lightweight flywheel again unknown.
I'm pulling motor to clean up and fixs leaks. Here is what I plan to do if there is anything I'm missing id appreciate any advice.

Cams with new springs
STP exhaust manifold
APEXI intake with 2g maf
All new fluids and belts
Balance shaft delete
head and exhaust studs. With gaskets
Water pump
New hoses (coolant and vaccum)
replace safc with ecm/dsm link
Wideband to replace exhaust temp for tuning.
Shift bushings.
2.5" exhausr with muffler

Plan on keeping ac and cruise control. I live in midwest and have very few corners so not concerned with lag.
Thanks again.

Would recommend a 3 inch exhaust over 2.5 inch. The 2.5 inch will negate the FP manifolds strong suit, flow.
You are going to want to buy the Mitsubishi hardware for the exhaust manifold to turbo and turbo to o2 housing, otherwise the hotparts will vibrate/heat cycle themself apart. *Its gonna be stupid expensive.
I really like the MR. Gasket copper head to exhaust manifold gasket and the ExtremePSI multi layer exhaust manifold to turbo gasket.
I would recommend the FP exhaust manifold blanket and any form of heat shield for the turbo exhaust housing/o2 housing.
You will need a blow off valve that isn't a stock unit.
You need a larger fuel pump like a 255 that is "re-wired", and a FPR. You may consider replacing the fuel feed line with a larger diameter and using the OEM feed line as the new return line. Dont know how far down the rabbit hole you want to go, but you could easily add a flex fuel sensor for E85.
You need to figure out what injectors you have/what you need to tune the car
I would be considering a kiggly HLA oil pressure regulator, going with speed density over the 2g MAF, and stuffing an 18g compressor wheel in the TDO5 housing.

So i was in the process of buying this car for my ten year old daughter who wants her own car to start building. Needless to say the original deal included the spare 2g head head, but he ended up saying that a 2g dsm head is more rare than the car itself and pulled it out of the deal but still wanted the 7 grand, with the helicoiled spark plug in the head that was the deal breaker, and the 2g is good but a galant vr4 is rarer lol glad you got a clean car things been garaged it's whole life no rust in minnesota is super hard to come buy

Yeah unfortunately it wasn't as clean as I lead to believe, once I got it home found quite a few issues
