I decides to make a parts washer to clean all the greasy brackets and what not while i was rebuilding my engine.
why:
1.cheaper to diy than take to machine shop
2.easy to build
3.very practical
parts:
50 gallon plastic drum($15 steal scrap yard)
12 volt water pump($50grange co-op)
8' 3/8 hose(15ish from schucks)
filter ($5 napa)
sand blasting gloves($10 ebay)
Plexiglas ($5 white city metals)
screws
wood
tools:
rivet gun
drill gun
jig saw
steps:
1.mark out with some tape a good size window and use the jig saw to cut it out
2.use some particle board to make a bracket for the glass to set on, or you might just be able to fold the glass over and rivet it on.
3 mount the punp on the side with screws
4.pluming:
tank==>hose===>filter===>(in) pump (out) >===scrub brush i drilled a hole through the midle and zip tied the hose to==>tank
5. cut come screen to place over solution and as a platform for parts
6.use a compass to mark a 7" diameter for glove holes and cut out with jig saw
7. drill and rivet gloves in
8. add solution and apply power(my power came from an old computer power supply i converted a wile ago, but any 12v supply will work; battery charger, battery, etc)
