US Vin decoder in ASA is 17 digits (Euro ASA may also be 17 digits), Japan Vin decoder in ASA is chassis type (three digits) and then six digit serial number, General Export ASA won't help you either. You need to contact a local Mitsubishi dealer in your country to essentially have access to an easy "parts equipped" breakdown. NZ and Aus have different applied Vin systems.

Anyone local to NZ that can help with this?

The 7A8.... number is just the 'new' style 17 digit VIN that LTSA/NZTA slap on a car that comes into the country that doesn't already have a 17 digit VIN, ie most Jap imports up until the mid 2000's. This 7A8... number is ONLY specific to NZ and no where else.

The real VIN you want is the E84A-00xxxxx number, which you can put into CAPS or ASA.
