Hi gurus,
After installing a viscous rear diff I have noticed a slight rattling noise coming from beneath towards the rear of the car, while not under load or breaking in the gear. At first I was thinking, it would be the driveshaft as bearings were a bit loose and universal joints had almost 300k km on it. So, Ive replaced all of them. The driveshaft is like new now, but the noise did not go away. I dont see much play in the input shaft in the diff, it is within the specs. Axles also look decent. I have been told to put some LSD additive to the oil, but I wonder, if it would make any difference since it is a viscous LSD, the coupling must be sealed and isolated from the oil in the diff, eh?
I wonder if you hae any ideas before I take the diff apart.
Thanks
Alex
