    HSM1118 [Item awaiting publishing]

Took a few weeks off because it was cold! Beginning of March I dropped the pan to see what I can see.Mama Mia! The oil pickup took hits, the main cap bridge is snapped in half, there's another hole (heart shaped just above the rear balance shaft), rear balance shaft is bent and locking the oil...

    HSM1118 [Item awaiting publishing]

The rollback drops me off up the hill from the garage and I coast inside. With the freezing weather, I'm not enthused about starting the teardown in the middle of winter in an unheated garage, but for the first time since I've owned it, I had a little bit of $ set aside, and a good reason to...

    HSM1118 [Item awaiting publishing]

So its Jan 21, 19 degrees, about 60 mph, downshifted to third to pass the slow dogs, before darting right to take the Pennsylvania Ave exit off the inner loop of the DC beltway. I was accellerating 2 or 3 seconds before... Booom!!! Lots of smoke and steam, no power, can't see out the windshield...

    HSM1118 [Item awaiting publishing]

I've been "building" since I bought it nearly 20 years ago. It was mostly stock back then. I really wanted to be documenting everything, but many times I was "building" just so I could get to work! :wtf: So I didn't have much time to write it down. Back then, mods were mostly bolt ons. My...

    Valve cover gaskets

Are 1G and 2G valve cover gaskets identical? Sticking to OEM to reduce the variables, part numbers for the perimeter and wells (1G, MD125939 & MD125940) and (2G, MD186784 & MD186785). So are they different in dimensions, material formulation, or did they just revise part numbers with the models...

FS: Built 6-Bolt Head - Price Drop $1000

A few people asked why I couldn't use the head, so here is a short description... = = = Pistons are HERE. First I checked the clearance with hks 264/272 cams. It was a no go because both intake and exhaust valves hit the pistons. Next I tried with stock cams, but I still couldn't get the .030" I...

Bump for price drop. I love looking at this on the shelf, but it's too nice for art work!

    Seats, Dash, Center Console (SOLD)

Not sure if you still have these, but I'm interested in the bottom part of the rear seat. But the cover only, since it is too big to ship. Please let me know if you're willing to part and disassemble. Price shipped to 20871? Thanks, Mike

    Lowering Springs. EU available?

I used the AGX shocks with DSM 1G springs. It lowered the car a bit over 1". I have the shocks set in the middle and I like the ride.

Stock Galant GSX Transmission Rebuild Questions

Get the VINs for the cars whose transmission parts you want to compare. Using CAPS you can drill down to the gears, bearings, shafts and other parts to compare their part numbers. This is how I figured out a 2G-ish trans from a 94+ AWD Expo (NNXL) would work in my 91 GVR4.

    Wrong Timing Belt Pulley Installed?

I seem to recall WAY back when, I replaced an idler on my GGSX. I tried to install the replacement idler using the original bolt, but it was too long. Hmmm...so I go looking it up on the VFAQ website and sure enough, the 90's cars used a different part number. From VFAQ...
